Living in Menifee

For those that want to see mild changes in seasons, it gets no better than the Menifee climate. We have a Mediterranean like climate, mild winters and hot dry summers, which is perfect for our grape vineyards in communities just south of Menifee. We average 263 days of sunshine a year. Our precipitation, which is generally light, is from November through March. But those people looking for snow, you can find it 60 minutes north. For beach goers, 60 minutes south.

Menifee is located approximately one hour away from beaches to the south, mountains to the north and the desert to the East. Interstate 215 is a major thoroughfare for Menifee. Department of Transportation has had, and continues to have expansion projects to widen this main artery. Menifee public transportation is supported by Dial-A-Ride.

Upon incorporation, the Menifee City Council was officially established. This Menifee City Council consists of a five-member governing body. The voting public elected to impose term-limits of two four-year terms. The City of Menifee has four districts, each which is represented on the Council.

Public Safety

The City is well served by contracted emergency service providers. Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is under contract for police service. Emergency medical service and fire protection are provided by the Riverside County Fire Department. There are four fire stations strategically located throughout the City. Each station has a paramedic engine company.

A California Law requires sex offenders to register with local law enforcement agencies. The public has access to that database to assist them in making informed decisions on the communities in which they live. For more information visit this link:

Crime statistics are voluntarily provided by Menifee law enforcement. These are the statistics published for 2009:
